Mild Winter

This is the mildest winter I have known in my lifetime. The lack of snow, unfrozen lake and mild temperatures are perplexing. We've had a cold snap or two, but thaws up into the 50s as well. Very odd. However, still we were not prevented from skiing for Ski Club, nor did we resist skating on the pond at Christmastime... although here it seems I'm skating on top of the water! It was actually quite thick, but smooth from freezing, thawing, and freezing again. 

Perhaps we will have an early spring and long growing season.
